Job Description
Work location: Chennai
Team and Position Summary:
- This position is part of the FP&A Reporting and Analytics COE and will be based out of Walmart Global Tech Chennai office. This team primarily provides reporting and analytics support to WMT HQ Finance Team and drive continuous improvement/enhancements to the digital reporting suite.
- This is an exciting role for a finance professional having 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Finance reporting with robust understanding of FP&A reporting tools and technology, ability to support transformations & ongoing improvements of different Walmart segments’ FP&A reporting processes.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, understand, and document business requirements related to Finance Reporting, Building dashboards and Data Management
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to deliver dashboards on time and within budget.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design prototype and dashboards using different visualization tools
- Handson experience in building complex DAX expressions, data transformation and identifying & integrating multiple data sources using SQL statements for large datasets
- Develop and customize Power BI dashboards, Reports and Data transformation to meet business needs.
- Requires knowledge of Visualization guidelines and best practices for complex data types; Understand customer requirements to design appropriate data representation for multiple data sets. Present to and influences the team and business audience using the appropriate data visualization frameworks
- Responsible for standard run of transformed reports and enhancements
- Strong experience required in data analysis/analytics tools such as SQL, MS Excel, Python/R
- Requires knowledge of relevant tools, applications, or scripting languages such as SQL, MS Excel, Python; Statistical techniques (for example, mean, mode, median, variance, standard deviation, correlation, and sorting and grouping)
- Requires knowledge of data source identification; Categories of data and where it is held; Business data requirements; Data Quality; Existing business systems and processes.
- Appropriate application and understanding of data ecosystem including Data Management, Data Quality Standards and Data Governance, Accessibility, Storage and Scalability, etc
- Conduct system UAT testing and act as Subject Matter Advisor (SMA) of segment/function throughout a project’s lifecycle.
- Stay updated on the latest Power BI features, updates, and industry trends to recommend improvements and enhancements.
- Build data models to generate the Analytics for the reports and dashboards

Minimum qualifications:
- Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline with strong technical understanding and advanced knowledge of finance & reporting
- Experience of working with Fin-Tech and product teams in matrix environment
- Proficiency in Power BI development architecture
- Strong Knowledge of SQL, Power query, Big query
- Ability to cut through ambiguity and navigate in a complex business landscape
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working with/for Product teams globally
- Advanced knowledge of Agile product development methods
- Knowledge of JIRA & Confluence will prove to be an asset
